Lifestyle Efficiency Competition Scenario

Imagine you live in a solar home with a high power PV array. Imagine you can choose any vehicle technology you need to match your lifestyle – electric, solar electric, hybrid, pluggable hybrid, fuel cell, or alternative fuel. Imagine you also have the ability to buy and sell energy from the electric utility grid.

What vehicle would you choose and what travel choices would you make to live the most energy efficiency lifestyle on a busy day of errands and a day of leisure travel? This is the context for participation and scoring of the 21st Century Automotive Challenge being hosted at Penn State April 17-19, 2009. Come, be part of the solution!

FRIDAY, APRIL 17 – INDUSTRY EXPO AND 21ST CAC TECH/DYNAMIC EVENTS
8:00-5:00    HHVRL Industry Expo
12:00-1:00    Lunch – 21st CAC Opening
1:00-4:00      21st CAC Tech Inspection and Dynamic Events
4:00-7:00      Autocross
7:00-10:00 Pit Work and charging

SATURDAY, APRIL 18 – 21ST CAC “BUSY ERRANDS DAY”
7:00-9:00      Breakfast Out event
9:00-12:00    Morning errands, charging and V2G and Williamsport trip
12:00-1:30    Lunch and Display, Bellefonte Talleyrand Park
1:30-4:30      Afternoon errands, charging and V2G
4:30-6:30      Scoring meeting at Morningstar Solar Home
6:30-9:30      Dinner Out in State College
7:00-10:00 Pit Work and charging

SUNDAY, APRIL 19 – 21ST CAC RANGE EVENTS
7:00-10:00    Closed track EV range event
10:00-12:00 Scenic mountain leg to Shavers Creek Environmental Center
12:00-1:30    Lunch at Greenwood State Park
1:30-2:30      Scenic mountain leg back to Penn State
