The Vehicle Systems & Safety Program of the Pennsylvania Transportation Institute at Penn State is responsible for the operation of the Federal Transit Administration's new model bus testing program.  The bus test center web site provides information on the program and its facilities.

 

 

Material for the Proposed FTA Bus Emissions Testing

The purpose of the presented material is to provide information on:

FTA seeks to modify the Bus Testing Regulation (49 CFR Part 665) to incorporate tests for brake performance and emissions to comply with the requirements in Section 3020 of SAFETEA-LU.  The purpose of the workshop is to provide the transit industry an update on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, introduce the draft protocol for the FTA New Model Transit Bus Emissions Test, and to solicit feedback on the draft test protocol.
